Privacy policy
Last updated November 2, 2026
The short version: you don't need an account, our own code doesn't set cookies, and we don't sell your information. Some partners we link to or load on the page may use cookies to credit us for a booking.
Who we are
Squirrel! (squirrelfares.com) is an independent flight-deal site run from Canada. You can reach us about privacy through our contact form (choose "Privacy request").
What we collect
- Messages you send us. If you use the contact form, we receive your name, email and message so we can reply.
- Technical logs. Like any website, our host (Netlify) records basic request information such as IP address, browser type and the page requested, to run and protect the site.
- No accounts, no tracking cookies from us. The site's own code doesn't set cookies or save anything in your browser.
Services that load on our pages
- Travelpayouts, our affiliate network, runs a script that may use cookies or similar identifiers to recognise when a visit from our site leads to a booking, and may turn some travel links into affiliate links.
- Supabase serves the fare data you see. Your browser requests it directly, so Supabase receives standard request information.
- Google Fonts and jsDelivr deliver our font and some open-source code; they receive your IP address when your browser fetches them.
- Unsplash and Wikimedia Commons host the destination photos.
Affiliate links
Links such as "Catch it now", "Hotel deals" and "compare on Skyscanner" take you to Aviasales, Skyscanner or Booking.com. Those links carry our partner ID and a short tag showing which part of our site the click came from (for example, "home_deal"). The tag describes the page, not you. Once you're on a partner's site, its own privacy policy applies, including any cookies it sets.
How we use information
- To reply to your messages.
- To run, secure and improve the site.
- To understand which parts of the site earn affiliate commission, using the placement tags above.
We don't sell personal information, and we don't use it for advertising profiles.
How long we keep it
We keep contact messages for up to 12 months after our last reply, then delete them. Hosting logs are kept by Netlify under its own retention rules.
Your choices and rights
Under Canada's privacy law (PIPEDA), you can ask what personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. If you're in the EU or UK, you also have rights under the GDPR, such as objecting to processing. Send a privacy request through our contact form, and we'll answer within 30 days. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site works without them.
Children
Squirrel! is meant for adults planning travel. We don't knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
